Frances Gravely, pictured with sister Susan and mother Lee | | Its not just home decor, its hand-crafted Italian artistry. A connoisseur of Italian culture and tabletop style, Frances Gravely, along with her sister Susan and mother Lee, formed VIETRI in 1983 after a family trip to the Amalfi Coast; there the threesome fell in love with colorful hand-painted dinnerware at the famous San Pietro Hotel.
Because there's no substitute for the real thing, VIETRI celebrates artisan-designed, heritage-inspired, hand-crafted artistry. The high quality products for the kitchen and beyond look real, feel real, and support the artisans of Italy and beyond. Families of artisans handcraft many of VIETRI's products with 3 or 4 generations of history, using centuries-old techniques. The subtle color from a paintbrush and the curving stroke of the artist's hand are never repeated in quite the same way, making each VIETRI piece truly unique.
